McLallen House Bed and Breakfast, located in the village of Trumansburg near Cayuga Lake, is 15 minutes north of Ithaca, home to Cornell University, Ithaca College and the Moosewood Restaurant; 5 minutes from artist studios on the Greater Ithaca Art Trail and Trumansburg Art Collective; and 10 minutes from the Discovery Trail, a group of cultural institutions that offer diverse history, art, science and natural history programs.
The village offers a combination of practical amenities, restaurants and taverns to appeal to a variety of tastes, including Hazelnut Kitchen and the Pourhouse. It is located on the Cayuga Wine Trail and 15 minutes from the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. McLallen House is 5 minutes from Taughannock Falls State Park, site of a 215-foot waterfall with hiking and Cayuga Lake swimming.
McLallen House is an Italianate Victorian built in 1855 - 1857. Our bed and breakfast has four en suite guest rooms and is decorated in an eclectic Arts & Crafts style, including Stickley furniture, prints from the Roycroft arts community and work by regional artists.
We use seasonal farm-fresh ingredients in our full breakfasts, served every morning. In addition, we are happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions. We are members of Sweet Land Farm CSA and frequently visit the Ithaca Farmers Market and the Trumansburg Farmers Market (Deirdre's the market manager!). We are also members of Finger Lakes Culinary Bounty and part of their efforts to develop agri-tourism trails. We buy many items at GreenStar Cooperative Market in Ithaca.
Check out our two-bedroom, "self-catering" apartment available by the week or with a 2-night minimum (explore local farms, farmers markets, u-picks, wineries and cook your own meals). Perfect for two couples who want their own private space with two porches and a gazebo!
